It's strange, because i don't actually have a lot of memories of back when i was attending grade 0 - 7 of school. Probably because i was bullied somewhat severely for being different back then, when i switched schools to the Waldorf way of schooling it was instead a cause for celebration. But out of all my memories of school i do vividly remember back in grade 3-5 when we would get picked up by the special busses that catered to school trips every wednesday when instead of doing PE, we'd go to this swimming pool the school had rented and just go have PE in the water. I loved being able to just dive down below the surface and enjoy the calm of it all, holding my breath for as long as possible to stay down there. Of course only to be interrupted by resurfacing to the loud acoustics of an entire class of kids having fun in the water. After the lesson, we'd shower, get dressed and go back to the bus, and i vividly remember the smell of the seats in their 80's patterned bus-seat-fabrics. That kind of smell gets amplified a lot when you've just showered and become all clean. This is what this artworks means to me: Swimming lessons on cold march days, accompanied by the bustrip back to the school.
